Cannabis-Infused Self Care

An "everything shower" will forever be my favorite way to unwind before bed. As a die-hard stoner girly, cannabis has been a part of my bedtime routine for years. Whether that's a bong rip before bed, THC tincture in my tea, or a little sleep gummy-- it always helps me fall fast asleep and stay asleep. However, recently I have been introduced to many more methods of consumption, some of which I've found to be more beneficial before bed. For example, when working with D2 Dispensary, I got to try their iTouch THC/CBD-infused lotion. This was a game changer for me and my pain management. I can get the relief I need without the strong mind and body effects of smoking.
I recently fell in love with the Venty dry herb vaporizer from Storz and Bickel. It allows me to enjoy the heavy high and pain relieving effects of smoking, without the harshness of combustion. I have a blog post dedicated to Smokeless September and how it opened my eyes to the dangers of only consuming via combustion. You can check that out here https://www.deishadabs.com/post/smokeless-september to learn more about my journey with prioritizing safer methods of flower consumption.

I also discovered THC/CBD bath bombs and salts, and this leveled up my bathtime ritual tenfold. I love using my sunset lamp, candles, sage, and these infused bath products to set an intention and vibe for my self-care time. As a bartender, I often find myself drained and exhausted after a long day of work. Healing and nourishing my mind, body, and soul via self-care rituals helps me ensure that I'm able to put my best foot forward every day.

STEP-BY-STEP STONEY SELF-CARE ROUTINE:
Tea time - My favorite bedtime tea is the "Traditional Medicinals" Chamomile & Passionflower Nighty Night blend. I usually put about a teaspoon of local honey and a few drops of THC or CBD/CBN tincture. Or a Sprinkle THC packet, which has nano-technology that allows for a quick onset of effects.
Draw a bath - Bubbles and Epsom salts (preferably infused) are always a must in my bathtime ritual. Along with my Lana Del Rey prayer candle (lol), some sage or palo santo, a vibey playlist/podcast to listen to, and of course colorful lights to set the mood. I will also often smoke a joint, bong rip, or dab-- this helps me relax and be present while enjoying my mental reset time.
Everything shower - Exfoliate, shave, shampoo, hair mask, scalp scrub, conditioner, and the list goes on. I basically just want to feel like a snake that just shed their skin after this. Sometimes I will do a hot oil treatment with Mielle Rosemary Mint & Castor Oil to stimulate hair growth and hydrate my scalp and hair.
Hair Care - always have to scrunch with a cotton T-shirt, spritz some "It's a 10" leave-in conditioner, and put my hair in braids to protect it while I sleep. I haven't been successful with the heatless overnight blowout trend, but I haven't given up yet (lol).
Oral Care - Of course, I always have to make sure I take my last rip of the night before this step;). I use my electric toothbrush, flossers, stainless steel tongue scrapper, and Therabreath Mild Mint mouthwash to care for my pearly whites. I incorporate coconut oil pulling in the morning sometimes as well. Oral care is so important, especially for daily smokers.
Skincare - I like to keep it simple for the most part, as my skin is pretty sensitive. I use Cerave Hydrating Cream to Foam face wash with my NOVA (Clarisonic dupe), using their gentle brush head. I use The Ordinary Glycolic Toner to get a light chemical exfoliation and moisturize with Weleda Skin Food. This has been my trifecta for the last year and has helped me achieve consistently bright, clear skin. I also will incorporate Rosehip seed and/or Marula oil on days my skin is feeling particularly dry and in need of hydration.
Tidy sesh - I love waking up to a clean house, especially when I have to work in the morning. The last thing I want to think about doing when I get home is cleaning my mess from the night before. Doing dishes, wiping surfaces, putting away clothes, etc... helps me unwind before bed and leaves me feeling ready to take on the new day.
Sleepytime- Finally, we have reached the best part ~bedtime~!!! I put my red lights on, turn greyscale on my phone, put my sleep meditation or music on, and set my alarm for the morning. Like most of us, I try to resist the urge to doom scroll for hours, & sometimes I fail. Lately, it has helped to put my phone on the floor or my desk to keep it out of sight and out of mind. This allows me to fully disconnect and experience higher quality sleep. I used to sleep with my phone under my pillow (yikes). Since learning about the dangers of phone addiction and how deeply intertwined our minds have become with them-- I have been actively trying to rewire how and when I use my phone.
Sounds good.I wanna be a stoner too
